It’s a touch early (IMO).

Every year it seems to start earlier: familiar holiday music on the radio and playing in stores, poinsettia fundraisers, seasonal products with peppermint flavor or Christmas wreath scent, red bows on street lamps, and the dreaded inflatable lawn ornaments. This used to be a major pet peeve of mine, but I can’t bring myself to get worked up about it this year. Halloween IS over and I suppose Thanksgiving is just a practice family holiday for everything in December.
Sometimes we need to stop and realize that the time with the people we love is limited. Me complaining about a pre-holiday festivities changes my focus from the positive themes of the holidays to a meaningless wasteful one (retailers’ priorities). There are a limited number of times I get to experience this holiday craziness with the people I love so I’m going to embrace it. There’s never enough time.
It’s a few weeks until Thanksgiving and I’m celebrating now – enjoy the new wintery layout (and have a great weekend!)!
