Grand Canyon – pre-hike

After a couple days of driving we arrived at the Mather Point Visitor Center area. It was under construction so I could easily shield my eyes as we got closer to the lookout.

We couldn’t see our trails from this lookout. The trail above is likely the South Kaibab. Ours is much further to the right of these photos.

I was blown away. We spent 15+ minutes just staring and pointing out crags, canyons, trails, and the glimpse of the Colorado River.
